Overall Trend
- In 2015, there were 311 deaths due to avoidable causes among Chatham-Kent residents.
- The mortality rate was 271.9 (241.0, 302.8) per 100,000 which was significantly higher than the rate of 187.6 (185.3, 189.9) per 100,000 for Ontario.
- Over time, rates have declined locally and provincially, with rates for Chatham-Kent generally higher than rates for Ontario overall.
